Anderlecht forward Dieumerci Mbokani has been advised by Romelu Lukaku that West Brom would be the ideal club for him to join.
Albion chief Steve Clarke has been linked with a swoop for the 27-year-old DR Congo international this summer, ironically as a replacement for Belgian hitman Lukaku, who has returned to Chelsea following a successful season-long loan.
The Baggies have been linked with a new loan bid for Lukaku but the player has now spoken out to tell Mbokani that a move to the Premier League with Albion would suit him if he leaves the Belgian champions this summer.
Dynamo Kiev have reportedly spoken with the player's representatives over a possible £8million deal but Lukaku told the media in his homeland: "Dieu has won titles in Belgium, now it's time for something else. West Brom is a good club. They can offer him new challenge.
"It is sometimes said that Dieu must be 'accompanied' but guidance is offered at West Brom by good people."
Mbokani has also given West Brom hope of choosing them over Kiev if they make a move to sign him because he would prefer a switch to England.
He said: "I am very happy to leave the club on a good note, now I need to think about my next move. England would be my first choice, but Italy also."
