Mounting fears for inexperienced Baggies

NewsKevin Phillips' exit to Birmingham has added to mounting fears over the lack of Premier League experience in the West Brom squad.

Having won the Championship title last season, much was expected from Tony Mowbray in the transfer market this summer as the Baggies look to shake off their tag as a yo-yo club.

Those seeking a £25 free bet will be aware that so far, Mowbray has only been able to bring in two new faces, Dutch forward Gianni Zuiverloon and Livingston's Graeme Dorrans, both young players with no English top flight experience.

Veteran striker Phillips, a former Premier League top scorer during his days with Sunderland, has now left the club to join Midlands rivals Birmingham having rejected a one-year offer from the Baggies.

Unless Mowbray can find some experienced players over the coming weeks, a lot of pressure will be on the likes of Dean Kiely and Jonathan Greening to show the way to the younger stars.
