Albion chairman Jeremy Peace says the club will reject any January offers for Graham Dorrans and talks are underway to extend his deal.

The Scottish youngster has enjoyed a fine first half to the season in the Championship to fuel speculation several Premier League clubs are interested in him.

However, Peace insisted the Baggies plan to keep their prize assets in the New Year and plans are afoot to offer the 22-year-old an extension.

"He signed a new contract in the summer," said Peace.

"We're comfortable with that and he's done well. We need a team capable of getting us out of the Championship.

"If we start selling our best players we won't have that. Given his age and the way he's contracted, he is an important player for us."

Peace added in the Express and Star: "You need players to not only get you out, but who can improve you in a higher division. Most people would agree he fits into that category."

Dorrans penned a new three-year contract in the summer and does have the option of extending that by a further year.
