West Brom midfielder Paul Scharner is hoping to claim a regular place for the remainder of the season after a stop-start campaign.

The Austrian international was dropped earlier in the season and has also suffered a series of injury niggles.

But James Morrison's knee injury, which will sideline him for several weeks, has opened up an opportunity ahead of Saturday's game at Everton.

Scharner said: "It's been a bit of a stop-start season for me. Hopefully I can pin down a place now.

"I wish Mozza (Morrison) all the best in his recovery but you have to wait for your chance - and then take it."

Scharner has netted five times against Everton during his career, including four times at Goodison Park. He said: "Those thoughts are in my head and I feel good everytime I go to Everton."
