Zoltan Gera could sign a new deal with West Brom after his agent confirmed talks were ongoing.
The 34-year-old re-joined the club from Fulham in the summer of 2011 but was released when his contract expired at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
The Hungary international is currently recovering from a serious knee injury that curtailed his season back in January.
Despite his fitness worries, Gera's representative, Filipovic Vladan, says the Baggies are keen to keep the player at the Hawthorns and talks have already taken place.
"If West Brom have not had the intention to keep Zoltan Gera, then they would not have talks with us," he said. "We have been negotiating about the conditions of the extension and hopefully the agreement will be made soon."
