Tigers in fresh Long link

Hull City are reportedly planning to make another move for West Brom forward Shane Long in January having missed out in the summer.

The two Premier League sides were close to a deal in the summer but the move fell through, despite the fact the striker had travelled to Hull to complete the switch.

It is understood that a £6.5million transfer fee was agreed but the deal fell through on the final day of the summer transfer window, with West Brom boss Steve Clarke indicating he didn't have enough attacking options to allow Long to leave at the time.

However, Hull boss Steve Bruce is seemingly still be keen to sign the Republic of Ireland international and will make another move for Long in the transfer window.

It remains to be seen as to whether West Brom are prepared to sell however, as Long has seen plenty of action this season and grabbed a goal in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea prior to the international break.
