Carroll told it's in your hands

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce says Andy Carroll has it in his own hands as to whether he makes the flight to Brazil in the summer.

The England international has been out of the Hammers side for most of the season with a heel injury but he is back now and Allardyce believes if he can get himself fully match fit he still has a chance of making England's World Cup squad.

Carroll has missed out on the England squad to face Denmark this Wednesday but it's his ability to offer a plan B to England which the boss feels might give him a chance.

"If Andy stays fit he's got it in his own hands," he said.

"If he plays as well as he did at the end of last season Roy can't ignore him."

The Hammers are set to play a midweek friendly behind closed doors in an effort to get Carroll up to match fitness.
