Defender out for Hammers

Last Updated: Fri, 18 Oct 2013 08:39

West Ham will be without centre-back James Collins for Saturday evening's clash with Manchester City after he picked up a knock.

The defender picked up an injury on international duty for Wales, on his return to the national side after a previous falling out with Welsh boss Chris Coleman.

Sam Allardyce may also be without Winston Reid after he picked up a knock and long term absentees Andy Carroll and Alou Diarra will not be back for the foreseeable future.

Returning striker Carlton Cole claims he is fit and raring to go after coming back to Upton Park six months after leaving the club.

Whether Allardyce goes with a striker or not remains to be seen after the success against Spurs, which was achived without any recognised front men on the pitch.
