West Ham have finally received some good news on the injury front as Guy Demel has been released from hospital.

When the Hammers defender will be fit and able to play again remains open to question, but he has returned home and started the process of his recovery.

The Ivory Coast international required oxygen as he left on a stretcher after falling awkwardly following what seemed an innocuous collision with Cardiff's Fraizer Campbell.

He suffered concussion and was unconscious for several minutes but, depending on his recovery time, he could be fit to face Newcastle next weekend although fellow defender fellow defender James Tomkins was sent off and will miss the game due to suspension..
