West Ham are keeping tabs on Livorno midfielder Antonio Candreva, the man who the Italian side replaced Alessandro Diamanti with.
The 22-year-old has been their star performer this season and his form has not gone unnoticed by Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola.
However, any deal would be far from straight forward as Candreva is still co-owned by Udinese.
Diamanti who made the move to Upton Park in August, would certainly welcome the chance to work alongside his former team-mate again.
He said: "Candreva is not a surprise, he has everything he needs to become a champion."
Luca Toni is another Italian who is thought to be on Zola's wanted list although he would face competition from the likes of Roma and AC Milan for the Bayern Munich forward's signature.
