West Ham co-chairman David Gold has revealed striker Duvan Zapata is close to a move, provided the club can secure a work permit.
Zapata, who scored 14 goals for Argentinian side Estudiantes last season, has been linked with the Hammers this summer as boss Sam Allardyce looks for more firepower ahead of the new season.
And now Gold, speaking to Sports Direct, says a deal is in place and he should join the club provided they can secure a work permit for the Colombian.
Gold said: "There's a deal in place and we are hoping we can get the lad into the club but we need to patient on that one."
Zapata is a highly-rated forward who has also attracted the attention of several top European sides including last season's Champions League runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
