West Ham have announced that Zeljko Petrovic has been appointed assistant manager at the club under Avram Grant.

The 44-year-old former Yugoslavian international has enjoyed success in Europe as a coach and he now joins a backroom staff already boasting Paul Groves, Kevin Keen, goalkeeping coach David Coles and fitness coach Eamon Swift.

Grant told the club's website: "I am happy that we now have the staff set-up that I presented to the owners when I came.

"The aim is to take the team forward with professional, positive people and have a creative atmosphere.

"Zeljko Petrovic has a lot of experience and knowledge as a player and a coach. "
