West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been credited with an interest in Benfica striker Oscar Cardozo.
Cardozo has a prolific scoring record for the Lisbon side, with 26 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions last season, but it is thought the forward is unhappy at Benfica.
The striker has come under criticism from some sections of the Benfica fanbase during his time with the club for a perceived low work rate, despite his scoring exploits.
Allardyce is keen to bolster his attacking options due to Andy Carroll's heel injury and has reportedly set his sights on 30-year-old Cardozo.
The Hammers may have to sell before they can buy but with Mali striker Modibo Maiga seemingly set for a move to French side St Etienne, a move for Cardozo could be on the cards before the transfer window closes.
