Hammers linked with Serie A swoop

West Ham are planning a move for Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang, according to reports in Italy.

Boss Sam Allardyce is keen to boost his midfield options further this summer and TMW have claimed he has turned his attentions to Obiang.

The likes of AC Milan and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old in the past but a move away from Sampdoria has failed to materialise for Obiang and the Hammers are now ready to test the Serie A side's resolve.

It is thought Sampdoria will consider bids in the region of £4million for Obiang, who has been capped once by Spain at Under 21 level.
