West Ham are set to switch their attentions to Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro if they fail in their attempt to sign Emanuel Insua.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has been busy in the early stages of the summer transfer window as he looks to inject a bit of style into a side that struggled last term.
After allowing George McCartney to leave, he is on the hunt for a replacement left-back and is hopeful of completing a deal within the next few days.
The east London club have been heavily linked with Insua but if they cannot finalise a deal in the next 24 hours they will look to the Lorient man.
The 20-year-old was one of the star performers for the Ligue 1 outfit last term, helping them to achieve an eighth-place finish.
However, they may need to move quickly with Liverpool understood to be also keeping tabs on the talented Portugal under-21 international.
Allardyce has targeted five new additions before the season starts in August but he would like to get the deals done sooner rather than later.
