Hammers look to new defender

Last Updated: Tue, 07 Jan 2014 08:58

Having signed Roger Johnson on Tuesday, West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is now turning his attention to Olympiakos defender Claude Dielna.

The Hammers boss will be backed in the transfer market as the side try to drag themselves out of trouble in the Premier League.

Allardyce is desperate to further add to his defence having landed Johnson on loan from Wolves for the remainder of the season yesterday.

Dielna, who is currently on loan with French side Ajaccio, would relish the chance to play in the Premier League and is not short of offers as Stoke City are also in the race for the 26-year-old, so if Allardyce wants him he may have to move quickly.
