West Ham face a major battle to land striker target Nicolas Anelka as QPR also want him and Liverpool have been linked.
QPR have joined the Hammers in the race to sign Anelka who is looking to get away from Shanghai Shenhua but the latest reports claim he wants to go to back Liverpool.
The former Chelsea, Liverpool, Bolton, Manchester City and Arsenal star has been in China since last January when he left Stamford Bridge after a bust up with then boss Andre Villas-Boas.
He has failed to settle in China, where he apparently earns £250,000 a week, and is now set for another spell in the Premier League.
With his former boss Sam Allardyce in charge at Upton Park, the Hammers had looked as though they were at the front of the queue but QPR owner Tony Fernandes is also in the race as he is ready to bankroll their bid to land him.
But Liverpool, said to be his preferred option, are unlikely to be able to match his wages.
