Any hopes that West Ham flop Modibo Maiga may get a permanent move to QPR are looking more remote on a weekly basis.

The former Sochaux forward moved to Upton Park in the summer of 2012 but it has turned out to be something of a disaster and he joined QPR on loan until the end of the season in January.

The hope was that if all went well he may get a permanent move but it is looking unlikely after QPR boss Harry Redknapp said he needed to improve if he was going to get selected.

"He's got to make me want to pick him," Redknapp told Get West London, when asked about Maiga's lack of appearances for the Championship side.

"It's true he's from a Premier League club but so is Will Keane, and Kevin Doyle was there with Wolves two years ago."
