West Ham look set to miss out on Massimo Ambrosini after the veteran confirmed his interest in a move to Fiorentina.
The 36-year-old midfielder was released from Milan this summer after a trophy-laden 18 seasons at the San Siro but is keen to keep on playing.
A number of clubs in Serie A and the MLS were immediately linked with the former Italy international.
West Ham were also keen to sign the player, though their hopes look to have been dashed following his latest comments.
Ambrosini has effectively issued a 'come-and-get-me' plea to Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella, dashing the Hammers' chances of snapping up the player.
"They are a great club and are coached by a great coach with a really serious and intriguing project," Ambrosini said. "If they would call me, I would gladly hear what they have to offer to me".
