West Ham are set to open talks with both Mathew Upson and Robert Green as they look to secure the future of two of their top players.
The future of both has been in question for a while with central defender Upson linked with a host of other sides namely Arsenal and Spurs as he looks to play at the highest level in order to keep his place in the England national side.
Likewise Green is also hoping to keep his place in the national side and he too has been linked with a move away from Upton Park but chief executive Scott Duxbury is hoping they can get both players signed up to new terms.
"Matthew's slightly more pressing, he's only got two years left on his contract so we'll start to sit down with his agent and try to negotiate an extension," said Duxbury.
"We've made contact, I don't know when those discussions will begin - but they will begin.
"Rob Green has got three years left. We've had several discussions but we haven't finalised them."
