Maiga linked with Turkey

Last Updated: Tue, 21 Jan 2014 14:10

Turkish club Sivasspor could be ready to end striker Modibo Maiga's Upton Park hell by making a move before the window closes.

The striker has managed just two goals in 19 appearances since arriving at West Ham in the summer and has been told by Hammers boss Sam Allardyce that he is free to go.

Allardyce is hoping to bring in at least one more striker before the end of the month and hopes to raise some extra funds by cashing in on the misfiring Maiga.

A move to Turkey looks to be on the cards for the Malian but there is also interest from France, with both Nice and St Etienne reported to be keen.
