West Ham have made contact with AC Milan about a summer move for striker M'baye Niang, according to the player's agent.
The 19-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at French club Montpellier, has been on Hammers boss Sam Allardyce's radar for the past few months and he is keen to land the France Under-21 international on a season-long loan ahead of the new campaign.
Niang's agent, Stephane Courbis, has confirmed the Londoners are interested but he admits his future remains unclear at this stage.
He told milannews.it: "The interest of West Ham? Yes, I confirm that."
He added: "It is difficult to say at this time [if he remains at AC Milan] without having a good conversation with the new coach."
The striker scored four goals in 17 starts for Montpellier in Ligue 1 last term but has failed to score in 30 appearances so far for Milan and is likely to be made available for another loan away from the club for next term.
