Hull City are the latest Premier League club to be linked with a swoop for West Ham's injury-plagued striker Dean Ashton.

The England international, who has endured two seasons of problems which have severely restricted the amount of appearances he has made for the Hammers, is still managing to attract several top-flight clubs as Stoke and Fulham have already been linked. And, following news that Ashton has been left out of the West Ham squad that left for China to compete in the Barclays Asia Cup, further speculation has arisen about his future.

The reason for Ashton remaining at the Chadwell Heath training ground is to build up his fitness levels, but reports claim he is getting himself in shape in order to be offloaded in the near future.

Hull boss Phil Brown is desperate to bolster his forward line and it is claimed he will join the battle to sign Ashton if he fails to land Fulham's Bobby Zamora.
