After a disappointing spell at the club in front of goal, West Ham striker Modibo Maiga will be allowed to leave in January.
The absence of England striker Andy Carroll through injury lead to Maiga being given an extended run in the first team but he has failed to take his chance.
With Carlton Cole returning, and Mladen Petric waiting for an opportunity, reports now suggest that Maiga will be allowed to leave for a knock down fee.
A return to France looks to be on the cards with St Etienne apparently interested.
