West Ham are thought to be closing in on a deal to bring Brazilian striker Wellington Paulista to Upton Park.

Following the arrivals of Joe Cole and Marouane Chamakh last week, the Cruzeiro forward is set to become manager Sam Allardyce's third signing of the transfer window.

He will initially join on loan, subject to him passing his medical at the club, with a view to a possible three-year deal if all goes well between now and the end of the season.
