Fears grow that the club maybe forced to sell the likes of Robert Green, Scott Parker, Matthew Upson and Carlton Cole in January.
West Ham are currently looking for reinvestment and there are continued reports of prospective new owners, with former Birmingham owners David Sullivan and David Gold or London-based financial company called Intermarket regularly linked, but so far there has been nothing concrete.
Former player Tony Cottee has warned they will be asking for trouble if they sell their top stars when the window opens in the New Year.
He told the Gazette: "I don't think it's just Robert Green and Matthew Upson. You need to look at Scott Parker and Carlton Cole, and all of the excellent young players coming through, and the last thing we want to see is someone like Jack Collison, for example, leaving.
"But of course a lot of it will be dictated by the club's finances and that comes back to whether takeovers do or don't happen."
