Veteran striker linked with Hammers

West Ham are being linked with a move for veteran Spanish striker Diego Tristan although they face stiff competition for his services.

Both Bolton and Newcastle are also being linked to the 32-year-old frontman and there are said to be other interested parties.

Although the ex-Spain international has had a poor past couple of seasons with Majorca and Livorno he remains very confident that he could still do a good job for a team in the Premier League.

Whether he gets the opportunity to prove that to be true at Upton Park remains to be seen and the signing of an ageing former international is unlikely to get the Hammers faithful in a mood of frenzied excitement.
