Injured Fyvie returns to Wigan

Last Updated: Mon, 24 Feb 2014 15:30

Midfielder Fraser Fyvie is back with Wigan after his loan spell at Shrewsbury was cut short by injury.

The 20-year-old, who was given a starting spot by Latics boss Uwe Rosler against MK Dons before being sent to the Shrews, has a knee problem and has left Shropshire a week ahead of schedule.

"He will have to go back," boss Michael Jackson told the Shrews' official website.

"He had a fresh air shot on Thursday, went home, got up the next morning and he could hardly bend his knee. So obviously we can't commit to taking a loan player for another month if we don't know if he is going to be fit, especially financially."
