Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is delighted he will not lose his internationals for the next six months as he strives for consistency.
The Premier League has been a stop-start affair so far this term, with two breaks for World Cup qualifiers and play-offs which has hampered the Spaniard's work on the training ground.
Martinez only took over in the summer so the absence of players for extended periods has not helped him change the side's style of play, but he is looking for all that to change.
He told the Evening Post: "There are a lot of demands on the players themselves in trying to qualify for the World Cup and now it will be great to concentrate on us and make sure that we are consistent.
"It is important because, first, you can work on a daily basis behind the scenes. Secondly, you don't have the distraction of players going on international duty.
"And the third one is the risk of injury. When you are losing players to injury when they are away with an international team, it is out of your hands."
