Midfielder admits he still has to deliver

WiganMidfielder Jason Koumas has admitted that he has so far failed to produce his best form since joining the Latics last summer.

Koumas was signed from West Brom for £5.3 million at the start of last season but the Wales international has failed to live up to his high billing so far.

The frustrated 29-year-old has started only two league games this season as he battles for a place on the left side of midfield with Olivier Kapo and Kevin Kilbane, while a series of niggling injuries has also not helped his cause.

Koumas told the Evening Post: "I'm looking for something to drop for me here - I feel like I've been waiting for that since I arrived.

"I've not really sparked from day one which is annoying, but hopefully things will start to come together for me.

"It's been a tough 12 months or so, and this is something which hasn't happened to me before in my career.

"I don't think it's about me finding the right position in the team, it's about finding form.

"But it's hard to find form if you're in and out of the side.

"What I need is a run of games. I've got two for Wales coming up and hopefully I can get myself together in that time."
