Latics boss Steve Bruce says Antoine Sibierski has not joined Norwich and he expects the striker back at Wigan in ten days time.

The Frenchman was said to be ready to sign on a free transfer for the Canaries after a four-month loan stint at the club.

But claims that the 34-year-old would be freed to sign for the Championship side are wide of the mark - according to the Wigan boss.

"Sibi is due to come back on January 17 and I've no problem about that happening," Bruce said in the Wigan Evening Post.

"The loan has served its purpose as Sibi has got some games under his belt and would be available for our squad.

"At the moment there hasn't been an approach from Norwich to take him for longer, so I assume he will come back to us."
