Midfielder move yet to materialise

WolvesMick McCarthy admits he hopes Seyi Olofinjana will stay at Wolves although he still expects a move to materialise for him.

The Nigerian star has been on the transfer list since June after striking an agreement with the club that he would be allowed to leave if Wolves did not clinch promotion to the Premier League last season.

And although McCarthy does not expect him to stay another season, the Molineux manager has not given up all hope of keeping him.

"I'd love him to stay but he'll end up going," the Wolves chief told the club's official website. "He's a Premier League player and if he gets the opportunity, he'll go.

"There will be a club for him. Everyone I've spoken to I've said 'take him' because if I was a Premier League manager I'd sign him - he's that good."

He added: "If he doesn't go, it won't break my mind to have him back. It wouldn't take long to pick up the pieces because he's a fabulous player."
