Wolves duo David Jones and Stephen Ward are close to making a return to training after undergoing operations on their knees.

The duo have been out of the side but look set to return to the training pitch next week and they may well be joined by Matt Hill who has been out for three weeks with an ankle problem.

Boss Mick McCarthy is looking forward to having them back in his squad and says it will be a massive boost for the club.

He told the club's website: "Jonah is back out training and he's delighted with himself, as is Stephen Ward," said Mick. "They both might be back out in football training next week.

"It will be a real boost to have them back available because they're both good players and they've done really well for me.

"To get them back fully fit will be a real plus. "Matt Hill joined the warm-up yesterday morning so he's getting there and he might be o-k for next week. We'll see."
