Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is hoping to follow up the capture of Andrew Surman with more signings before the weekend.

McCarthy is endeavouring to add to his squad before they all jet off for a pre-season tour of Australia on Saturday.

Having landed Surman from struggling Southampton this week - a player McCarthy says he has been chasing for three years - and Kevin Doyle from Reading, the manager was asked if there would be any more new arrivals before the weekend.

He replied: "We'll see, one way or another we'll find out.

"I'll keep trying, we've still got a few plates spinning, we'll see what happens."
