Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is being linked with a £1.5million move for Coventry City striker Leon Best.

The Republic of Ireland striker has been a revelation for the Sky Blues so far this season when banging in six goals and his form has not gone unnoticed at Molineux.

McCarthy is concerned with his side's lack of goals in the Premiership and he is looking to add more firepower to his ranks as soon as the transfer window opens.

Best is out of contract at Coventry next summer and McCarthy hopes he will be able to wrap up a cut-price swoop in the new year.
