Wolves have won the race to sign Reading's Kevin Doyle in a club-record deal worth around £6.5m for the Republic of Ireland striker.
Boss Mick McCarthy has beaten off competition from Everton, Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland for the player's signature and the 25-year-old was expected to be paraded at Molineux today at a 9.30am press conference.
Doyle, who scored 55 goals in 154 League games for Reading, was still under contract at the Madejski Stadium but Wolves have triggered the buy-out clause in that deal to team him up with last season's top scorer Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.
Doyle will sign a long-term contract and will be unveiled as the Premier League new boys' latest signing, with more to come as McCarthy tries to build a squad capable of surviving in the top flight.
