Chairboys appeal Stewart red

Wycombe have appealed the red card shown to Anthony Stewart in Saturday's clash at Dagenham.

The in-form centre-back was given his marching orders for what referee Keith Stroud felt was a foul on Daggers' top scorer Rhys Murphy as the striker bore down on goal.

"I think it's a poor decision," boss Gareth Ainsworth told the club's official website after the match. "Anthony Stewart is adamant he got the ball first before anything. It's a very, very soft penalty.

"All my players are distraught in there. They are all saying no chance. Anthony got the ball, he's not taken the man out."
